About Me
I received a Bachelor of Science (B.S.N.) degree in nursing from the Ohio State University in 2006 and a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in health care and nursing administration with a specialty focus in health care quality and patient safety from the University of Michigan in 2009. My nursing career began in a busy, urban emergency department. After gaining invaluable experience in that setting, I followed my passion into community health. I worked for a large Visiting Nurse Association as a community health nurse, and after obtaining my master’s degree, as a quality education coordinator. Currently, I work as a health care surveyor for the State of Michigan. My role involves conducting initial certification, recertification, and validation surveys of home health and hospice agencies on the behalf of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to determine compliance with federal and state laws, rules, and regulations. I am very passionate about improving the quality and safety of home health and hospice services and ensuring that patients receive the best possible care at all times.
